Process of heating, oil quenching, further washing and tempering various workpieces of carbon and alloyed steels in the medium-batch production (up to 250 kg/h) is automated as much as practical in the SNZA quenching-tempering line.

The line consists of individual components arranged in two technological lines: line of quenching and line of washing and tempering. The line includes the following basic components: - SNZ 6.12.5/10 electric chamber furnace to heat workpieces for quenching in protective atmosphere;
- SNO 6.12.5/7 electric furnace for low- and medium temperature tempering in air atmosphere;
- Batch-type quenching bath for oil quench cooling workpieces heated to the quenching temperature;
- Batch-type washing bath for washing remaining oil out from quenched workpieces in the washing solution;
- Transporting-loading mechanism (2 pcs.) for loading, unloading and transportation of workpieces being heat-treated within the technological lines;
- Cages, trays, baskets and holders for stowage and transportation of workpieces being heat-treated.
The line also includes gas distributive boards of the system supplying gas to the heat-treatment equipment as well as control cabinets (3 pcs.) and a cabinet with a hydraulic station and compartment ensuring semi-automatic operational mode of the components in the technological lines. The line comes with an ANG absorption nitrogen generator to produce a protective atmosphere and a gas mixing panel to prepare a synthetic nitrogen-propane (or nitrogen-natural gas) atmosphere. The transporting-loading mechanisms are included into the quenching and tempering lines and intended for motorized loading-unloading operations within the line. Oil and rinse baths are equipped with a hydraulic mechanism for lifting and lowering trays with workpieces. Due to the proprietory heat exchange pattern, temperature in the quenching bath is kept automatically and does not exceed 60 °C. The bath is equipped with an agitator to generate laminar circumfluent flow. Advanced agent formulas are used to wash workpieces. It will not take more than 30 seconds to transload workpieces from the furnace into the bath. The line control system automatically keeps required temperature in furnaces and baths, controls all mechanisms, alarms and safety locks. SNZA control system uses advanced PLCs. The scope of delivery also includes a computer-aided process documentation system. Optional scope of delivery: SNZA implement of the SNOA line without protective atmosphere system may be delivered
