Wide use of the PP series crucible resistance furnaces produced by our Company in Russia and CIS countries is resulting from their simple design, highly efficient performance and low start-up and operation costs. Applications The crucible furnaces are used for melting non-ferrous metals and keeping stable temperature of the melt till pouring.
PP 2000M Design features The furnace has a welded frame made from metal sections lined with lightweight refractory and fibrous thermal insulation materials. Coiled heaters are arranged against furnace walls and assure uniform heating of the crucible. Coils are placed into ceramic tubes to increase service life of the heaters to the utmost as compared to other placement modes and provide free radiation into the working chamber of the furnace. Replacement of the heaters and crucible is simplified as much as practical. For the purpose, the furnace is accomplished with a detachable top frame. The heaters are replaced when the crucible is removed and the top frame is detached. The heater contacts are in a terminal box with a readily-removable cover. In the tilting furnaces, a space-saving unfailing hydraulic drive produced by an Italian company is used instead of a mechanical one to tilt the crucible. When pouring, the drive allows a fine crucible tilt angle adjustment. Tilting furnaces are usually equipped with domestic crucibles produced by Luga Abrasive Plant. If required, crucibles of foreign producers can be used. Furnace control system is based on advanced temperature microcontrollers and thyristor converters. These components increase operator's comfort significantly, cut costs of equipment maintenance and ensure a more precise adjustment of the temperature profile.and ensures a more precisernce, equipment me the of the crucible.aterials.Coiledamber.t, power control Advantages:
- Low acquisition costs; no need for drafting and approving procedures for the furnace installation project; in oppose to cooling of induction furnaces, flowing water is not a prerequisite, so less investments are to be made in a new production department.
- Better service life of the crucible in the resistance furnaces and additional heat losses cut (e. g. related to warming water used to cool the inductor as well as to transformer no-load losses) allow a decrease in cast unit cost as compared to induction furnaces.
- Easy design and control facilitate installation and maintenance of the furnaces at the customer level.
- Permission for metallurgical applications is available.
